You’ll need your company’s official formation documents, your IRS-issued EIN document, and a government ID (e.g., a passport or U.S. government identification document – see all acceptable documents here) for at least one person with operating control of the business, as well as  any owner with at least 25% ownership of your company. You'll also need to provide some information about your company and its owner with operating control.Customers must be formed and registered in the United States or a U.S. territory, have some type of existing or planned operations in the U.S., and have a U.S. or international address for their principal place of business. This can be a residential address, but may not be a registered agent, P.O. box, or UPS box address. Yes, security is a top priority at Mercury. Here are some measures we take to ensure your security:
  • Require HTTPS on all pages, and use HSTSOpens in new tab to ensure browsers only ever connect to Mercury over a secure connection.
  • Employ a third party to perform penetration testing each year to check for vulnerabilities.
  • Hash and store all passwords with the bcrypt algorithm — never as plaintext.
  • Use time-based one-time passwords for two-factor authentication. We never send authentication codes via insecure channels like SMS.
  • Encrypt our database and all uploaded images, with additional encryption for sensitive data like social security numbers.
  • Never store your debit or credit card numbers.

Yes you can send checks in two ways: 
1. Physical checkbooks: After enabling checkbooks for your business, you can order up to six complimentary Mercury checkbooks per year. You also have the option to order checkbooks from your preferred third-party provider. To help prevent fraud, Mercury includes a feature called check review that allows businesses to review physical checks after they have been deposited.
2. Mailed checks: Mercury provides the ability to send individual mailed checks directly through the Send Money flow. These checks are securely printed and mailed on behalf of the user.
