Founder of Voyage Bio (YC S19, acquired). Justin is now an active angel investor and a Senior Venture Partner at Pioneer Fund VC. Voyage Bio developed a stroke therapeutic that uses hypothermia techniques from cardiac surgery to reduce brain damage. Justin was the CTO and co-founder, and the only engineer at the company from inception to acquisition. He is an award winning product designer (SF Design Week, Fast Company World Changing Ideas) and has a background in mechanical engineering (Clemson) and bioengineering (UC Berkeley / UCSF). Justin has been angel investing for ~1 year (since the Voyage acquisition) and has a personal portfolio of 10+ startups, including Kernal Biologics, Known Medicine, Sixfold Bioscience, and Faction.

Justin invests mainly in biotech and healthcare, but has also invested in space, crypto, hardware, and other frontier technologies. He is especially interested in radical new ideas in healthcare technology.
