Our team handles the payroll compliance for you: registers you in new states, files and pays your federal and state payroll taxes, and takes care of government notices. No extra tools or logins required, with hands-on support for payroll compliance tasks.

Yes, at this time, you do need to have a Mercury account to access Mercury Payroll. We are not currently supporting external bank accounts.

To get started with Mercury Payroll, log into Mercury and select Payroll from the left-hand product switcher. From there, you’ll answer a few questions and then schedule time to chat with our team.

You’ll need a Mercury account to fund payroll, your company’s ownership details, an EIN, and an authorized company signatory.

Mercury Payroll currently supports paying U.S. employees and contractors. Until international contractor support is available in Payroll, you can pay those team members directly via wire from your Mercury account.

Mercury Payroll is free for 2026. After that, Mercury Payroll costs $100/month plus $50 for each person paid that month, with no annual contract.Note that you will still be responsible for government fees and taxes that will be passed onto you, as well as costs incurred for workers’ compensation, insurance, and benefits provided by third parties.
